It had on it the PGL, G2 Esports, CLoud9 and Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham stickers, making it truly unique. The game went free to play in December 2018 and received more than 14,000 negative reviews in one day. The game currently has more than 4,000,000 reviews and sits at an 85% Very Positive rating.

The game has been nominated for more than 60 awards since its release and has won 6, most recently winning Best Ongoing Game at the Game Critics Awards 2019 and Best Community Support at The Game Awards 2019. Destiny 2 was first released on September 6th, 2017 and went free-to-play with the release of its fourth expansion, Shadowkeep, on October 1st, 2019.

The game was developed by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene, who was inspired by films such as Battle Royale and The Hunger Games. In December 2017, the game peaked at 3,106,258 concurrent players, beating its previous record of just over 1,000,000 set in the September of that year by more than double. In its first two days on Steam, the collection sold more than 2 million copies and peaked at 161,024 players.

The game was published by Valve and released on Steam and on the Xbox 360 on November 17th, 2009 and then Mac OS X in October, 2010 and finally Linux in July, 2013. The game was once refused classification in Australia by the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OLFC) because of what they stated was the, “realistic, frenetic and unrelenting violence”. It eventually got an R18+ classification and was unbanned on August 29th, 2014. Left 4 Dead 2 has been involved in a number of crossovers over the years, including in Dead by Daylight which has the character William “Bill” Overbeck made available as a playable Survivor. The latest was a 4-day crossover event with Dying Light that saw characters and enemies join Techland’s zombie survival game in October, 2019.

DayZ began life as a mod for Bohemia Interactive’s open-world military shooter, ARMA 2. It was initially released as a mod on January 21, 2012. Its creator, Dean Hall, was soon after hired by Bohemia Interactive to make it a stand-alone game with it then moving onto Steam’s Early Access on December 16th, 2013, and finally left Early Access for a full release on December 13th, 2018. DayZ’s original map was 225 sq. km in size, that compared with PUBG’s original map, Erangel is 16 sq. km in size.

Deep Rock Galactic is the first game from Danish developers, Ghost Ship Games, who put emphasis on their motto, “Co-op First.” Currently, there are four classes in the game to choose from, all with their own unique abilities. In the scene, Tom Cruise pulls out a cue case and when asked what he has in it he replies with, “Doom”. Arma 3 boasts a true combat experience in an authentic, diverse and massive military sandbox with both single-player and multiplayer available. The game takes place in the mid-2030s with the largest terrain sitting at roughly 270 sq. km in size. There are more than 60 weapons, more than 70 vehicles and hundreds of items and equipment pieces. Arma 3’s development was officially announced in 2011 with the game being released on September 12th, 2013. On September 10th, 2012, two Czechs were arrested on the Greek island Lemos and charged with espionage. Upon their arrest they claimed to be working for Bohemia Interactive and were taking photographs and video for the upcoming Arma 3. The company admitted the two worked for them, but stated that they were on the island for the sole purpose of “experiencing the island’s beautiful surroundings”. They were released on January 15th, 2013.

A first-person shooter (FPS) is a genre that centers games on gun and other weapon-based combat in the first-person perspective, allowing the player to see through the eyes of the character they control. The FPS genre can be traced back to the 1970s with the game Maze War that was available on the Macintosh, Xerox and X Window and computer systems, but the genre didn’t really take off until the 90s with the heavy metal introduction of Doom.
